​Frequently Asked Questions

  • How can I make online donation?
    You can make a donation in personal capacity through our online system. If you would like to donate on behalf of an organisation / corporate, please contact our staff (Email: uniycy20@ymca.org.hk / Tel: 2705-2231 / WhatsApp: CLICK HERE)。
  • Can I donate without using the online system which requires to use credit cards?
    You can also make online donations by using Fast Payment System (FPS) or by post (Payee Name: Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong) to our office (Address: University & College YMCA Department, Mong Kok Holistic Development Centre, 8/F, Chung Kiu Commercial Building, 47-51 Shantung Street, Mong Kok, Kowloon, Hong Kong​), marked with "Donation" on the envelope, and the full name and contact number of the donor at the back of the cheque.
  • Are my donations tax-deductible?
    Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong is a registered charitable institution in Hong Kong, which is exempt from tax under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance. Donations of HK$100 or above are tax-deductible with official donation receipts issued by our Association. If you would like to have the official donation receipt, you need to choose the related option while you are doing the donation. Our Association will issue official donation receipt for each donation of HK$100 or above.
  • What souvenirs can I receive after donation?
    You are eligible to receive souvenirs according to the amount you have donated, please refer to https://www.uniycy20.ymca.org.hk/fundraising for details.
  • How to get the souvenirs and/or my donation receipt?
    Donors have to tick the appropriate box(es) while making the donation for getting the souvenir(s) and/or the official donation receipt. Donors will receive an email regarding the arrangements of getting the souvenir(s) and/or the official donation receipt within 30 working days after the donation date. 【Arrangement for Souvenir(s) Collection】 Souvenirs will be ready for collection after the notification email being sent. Donors may visit our office (Address: University & College YMCA Department, Mong Kok Holistic Development Centre, 8/F, Chung Kiu Commercial Building, 47-51 Shantung Street, Mong Kok, Kowloon, Hong Kong) during office hours (Mon-Fri: 09:00-13:00 and 14:00-18:00) to collect the souvenirs after showing the email copy and the proof of identity. For donors who cannot collect the souvenirs in person, they may apply for mailing service or authorising someone to collect them on their behalf by filling in the online form mentioned in the notification email by the deadline. However, donors shall bear the shipping fee and all related expenses (if any), and they cannot designate a certain courier supplier. Our Association will not be responsible for any damage/loss of goods during delivery. 【Arrangement for Receipt Collection】 The original paper-form donation receipt will be issued in periods stated below. After receiving the email notifications, donors may then visit our office (Address: University & College YMCA Department, Mong Kok Holistic Development Centre, 8/F, Chung Kiu Commercial Building, 47-51 Shantung Street, Mong Kok, Kowloon, Hong Kong) during office hours (Mon-Fri: 09:00-13:00 and 14:00-18:00) to collect the receipt after showing the email copy and the proof of identity. Donations made between 1 June 2023 and 30 November 2023 >>> Donation receipts will be issued in December 2023. Donations made between 1 December 2023 and 29 February 2024 >>> Donation receipts will be issued by 31 March 2024. For donors who cannot collect the receipt in person, they may apply for emailing service or authorising someone to collect the receipt on their behalf by filling in the online form mentioned in the notification email by the deadline.
  • How can I know if I have successfully made my donation?
    After your donation, you will receive a confirmation email sent by Acqra Limited (Email Subject: "Thank you for supporting University & College YMCA Department, Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong / 謝謝您支持香港中華基督教青年會大學及學院青年會部").
  • How do I know if I have registered successfully when there is no confirmation email received?
    Please ensure the confirmation email does not fall into the junk mail, otherwise you are welcome to email us at uniycy20@ymca.org.hk or contact our staff (Tel: 2705-2231 / WhatsApp: CLICK HERE) during office hours (Mon-Fri: 09:00-13:00 and 14:00-18:00).
  • Why would I receive the email about activating the Acqra account?
    After your donation, apart from the confirmation email sent by Acqra Limited, you will also receive an email with the subject "Acqra: Activate your account" for activating your Acqra account. By doing so, you may log in your personal donation record page and obtain the donation link for sharing with your friends and relatives. If you have no intention to view your donation record or obtain the donation link, you may ignore that email.
  • How can I encourage more people to support the campaign?
    After your donation, you will receive an email from Acqra Limited with the subject "XXXX" for activating your Acqra account. By doing so, you may log in your personal donation record page and obtain the donation link for sharing with your friends and relatives. Please refer to the example below: STEP 1 - You will receive the following email: STEP 2 - Click on the link and you will be redirected to the page for registerig your personal account of Acqra. STEP 3 - Please click on the digital flag you have purchased after you have successfully logged in. STEP 4 - You will see this page after clicking on the digital flag and you can obtain the link for sharing with your relatives and friends!
  • Can I share the push messages on other platforms besides WhatsApp and Facebook?
    You are welcome to share the messages with your friends through different social media channels, such as Instagram, Signal, WeChat, etc.
  • When is the deadline for online donation?
    Deadline for online donation : 23:59, 29 February 2024
  • If more donations are raised than required, what will the University & College YMCA Department of Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong do with the remaining donations?
    For the remaining balance of the donations (if any), it will be used in supporting youth development projects of our Association.
  • Can I join the "20+" Service Programmes?
    The "20+" Service Programmes Series is presented by the student executives and alumni of University & College YMCAs, and we are now recruiting our members to join as volunteers! If you are interested in the services, you are welcome to join our membership now! We also welcome corporate volunteers to join our selected "20+" service programmes, which more details on the site of Corporate Engagement.   • What can I do if I run into problems while making an online donation?
